Senator David Sommers has dedicated his life to serving his country, both in and out of uniform. From his early days as an ambitious student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to his distinguished military career as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force, and later as a respected aviator and public figure, Senator Sommers has always put America First. His journey is one of courage, discipline, and unwavering commitment to his fellow Americans. Whether training the next generation of pilots, representing veterans, or advocating for policies that strengthen our country, Senator Sommers embodies the spirit of leadership and service.

 

Military Career: Defending America from the Skies

 

After graduating from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Senator Sommers followed his passion for aviation and national defense by joining the United States Air Force. There, he trained and qualified as a Fighter, Attack, Reconnaissance, pilot on the T-38 Talon, mastering the skills necessary to operate some of the world’s most advanced aircraft. His expertise led him to become an Instructor Pilot for the C-130 Hercules, a critical aircraft used for combat, logistics, and humanitarian missions. Throughout his military career, Senator Sommers deployed multiple times to both Iraq and Afghanistan, serving on the front lines in support of America’s national security. His dedication to duty and leadership earned him the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, as well as the respect of his peers and superiors.

 

Aviation Leadership: Keeping America Moving

 

Following his honorable service in the Air Force, Senator Sommers brought his aviation experience to the commercial sector. He worked as a pilot for TWA and American Airlines, ensuring safe travel for millions of passengers. His career in commercial aviation reinforced his belief in American innovation, security, and infrastructure development—key pillars of a strong and prosperous nation.Later in his career, Senator Sommers transitioned to applying his deep knowledge of aviation to improving the safety and efficiency of modern aircraft. His work helped ensure that American aviation remains the gold standard for safety and performance in the world.

Honorary Senate Position: A Voice for the People

During his time in the aviation and military communities, Senator Sommers was recognized for his leadership and contributions with an honorary Senate position. This honorary title propelled him into the public eye, allowing him to advocate for policies that support veterans, pilots, military families, and American workers.

 

With his new platform, Senator Sommers became a well-known public figure, using his voice to support conservative values, economic prosperity, and a strong national defense.
